Places - I had addresses for everywhere. I Googled street maps and used the 3d viewer. I know exactly how they all look!
Exercise research - I'm built for comfort, not speed, so I had to do a lot of research on this.
The Vacunaut suit needed some research.
Notes of things to go back and check as I was writing - for consistency. I also played with AI to create images that helped me visualise things - I find it useful for that.
